Hydromechanic locking technique

Cylinder with hydromechanic lock

A patented hydraulic locking cylinder, which has both hydraulic and internal mechanical locking. The special feature of this new technique is that the cylinder locks in both directions, both on pressure and on draft. The infinitely variable hydraulic lock up to 1.5 fold safety is based on the use of 2 special hydraulic valves. The mechanical locking up to 2.5 fold security is ensured by a radially arranged mechanism, which locks every 5.3 mm. This safety function is realized by the patented hydraulic control. 

Safety Lock is easily usable for all application areas, where hydraulic cylinders could not offer sufficient security until now. Due to the combination of hydraulic and mechanical locking, additional mechanical supports or further fastening measures are unnecessary.

Benefits of the hydromechanical locking technique

* Mechanical and hydraulic locking against insertion and / or extension.
* The cylinder locks when the oil pressure is lost, so that if the pressure is lost, the cylinder remains locked in the same position.
* High functional safety compared to systems with external locking.
* The cylinder has been tested on strenght with 200,000 variable loads and 2.5g at 4Hz.
* The protection of the surface of the cylinder has been tested with 500 hours in a salt spray test in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227.
* The cylinder has a hydraulic and mechanical lock that is functional both with pulling and pressing operation. This also applies if the cylinder is connected to a valve that has closed all 4 connections in zero.
* The cylinder only needs to be connected with 2 connections (A and B).
* The hydraulic block is made of seawater resistant aluminum (contact corrosion).
* The European patent has been assigned.
